I have a situation I can't seem to figure out. When I open the Word program
and use file open and browse to a file (.Doc) it opens one way, acctually
incorrectly. When I browse directly to the file and open it, it opens
correctly. This particular document has a table in it that doesn't open
correctly using the file open in word. Any Ideas.

Is one of the ways "Reading Layout". If so, try disabling it ...

Go to Tools > Options > General (tab) and uncheck "Allow starting in Reading
Layout"

When I open the doc by browsing to it. It opens fine. When I open Word and
try to open it from file, open, I get mostly code.

Tried that, nothing. Thanks

What sort of 'code'? VBA? XML? If you don't recognise it can you post a bit
of it?

Ahhhh. :) MAYBE...
Open Word. Hit File-->Open. Do you have "Recover text..." chosen as the
Files of type? If so, change it to Word documents...
