Word Office 2000

I have a new XP, but I don't have any word program. Can I install Word 2000?
Good or bad idea?? Thanks for any input!
 
Is this a version of Word that came preinstalled on another computer?
 
I actually dont know. It is a disk that a freind gave me.

I hope you mean that it's now your disk and not that your friend "loaned" it
to you.

What does the disk say?

I'm guessing they mean they have a new computer with some flavor of Windows
XP. And it wouldn't surprise me if it was an inexpensive system with few, if
any, apps.
