Here at our small company we have recently upgraded to Word 2003 from 97 via
a network install. We have discovered that some menu options that were
available in 97, but are no longer available in 2003 are still appearing on a
number of machines, even though the 2003 install completed successfully.

Would anyone have an idea on why this is happening? Is it a known Word 2003
upgrade issue?

Thanks in advance.

What are the "menu options" in the issue? Are you sure they were built-in
for Word 97, or might they come from add-ins or templates that are still
present in some of the Word 2003 installations? See
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/CheckIfAddinsInstalled.htm for info.

Note also that if Word 2003 was installed over Word 97, any commands that
were added to menus in Word 97 would not have been removed, as an upgrade
installation respects and preserves the earlier installation's settings
insofar as possible.
