Word for Windows 6.0

I have some files that I need to open but I get an error that says "Cannot
open Word for Windows 6.0". Some files open fine but others give me the
error message. I am using XP Home Edition. I went to the download section
but there are several listings but none for XP. What do I need to do to be
able to open these files. Any help will be appreciated....
