Word/Excel 2007

I was using Office 2000. I installed Office 2007 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Outlook). I cannot open my 2000 Word files or 2000 Excel files. I get a bunch
of "xxxx"s or numbers, I get options to import them as delimited files, etc.
I have downloaded EVERY single converstion/upgrade there is for Office 2007.
I can't use ANY of my files. I have done all I know to do. Thanks for any
help you'll provide.

Do you have a printer selected in Word?

Yes, the printer, as are all our printers, is an HP. Is the HP issue that I've read about the cause here? That doesn't seem "right," that it would not allow me to open files. I can create new files & print them...

Wow. That is very long, detailed & scary...I wish I had known this could
occur; I never would have installed MO 2007. I am sad.
