Word error on exiting outlook 2002

If I have word as the editor, every time I quit outlook a dialog box comes up
saying

Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry
for the inconvenience.

The only way I can avoid it is to have word open with another document, or
not use word in outlook.

I am running
Windows XP professional
Microsoft office XP which includes Outlook 2002 and Word 2002
All are kept up to date
Nod32 as the virus checker

Looks like I may be alone :(
By the way I have tried several things which fix it temporarly.

1) Setting up outlook in an Administrator account then using outlook in a
user account (The user accounts have limited access).
2) Clearing the registry entries for older versions of outlook as described
in http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q319796
3) Changing the "use word as editor" settings while word is open on another
document I thought work for a while but doesn't seam to now.
