I can open different word documents and work on them, however, when I click
the save button I get dialogue box which says that the doc is being used in
another program/or that a template exist and it wants to know if I want to
globally save changes to the template. I am a bit perplex because all was
working fine, than one day this template thing start appearing. I don't know
how it got there since I never used a template. Any suggestions? thanks

I would ask the experts in an MS Word newsgroup. Note also that publishing
your EMail address in a newsgroup is counter-productive: Respondents won't
use, spammers will harvest it.

close Word , find the file "normal.dot" and delete it ...it will re-create
next time you open Word.
