word document defaults to last page when I open it

How come when I open a Word document it defaults to the last page. Is there
anyway to set it to default to the top of first page.

Normally, documents do open with the first page active.

What happens if you start Word in Safe mode (hold Ctrl as you start the
application)? Do you still see the problem? If not, it is likely to be caused
by a macro in an add-in (these are bypassed in Safe mode). See also
