Word Closes when Document is Closed

When the user closes a document in Word 2003 using the
document's "X" (not the program "X"), it also closes
Word.

Any idea why and how to stop it?
 
No idea why i'm afraid. Does this still happen when you go to file and close?
 
Only when the user uses the button.
