Word closes out when I try to restore it

I have office 2002. When I try to restore Word after it has been minimized, it disappears. It closes up and takes all open documents with it. Some times it will disappear when I am switching between open documents. It just happened again for the third time today. I have tried reinstalling it, didn't help. Has anyone had any problems with this? Does any one know how to fix it? Any help would be appreciated

I suspect you've encountered a bug in the Handwriting Recognition
services. Try the following:

- Open your Control Panel
- Open Regional and Language Settings
- Select the Language tab
- Click Details
- Remove Handwriting Recognition
