Today, as I tried to answer an email in Outlook 2000 using
Word 2000 as my email editor, I noticed Word was not
acting as the email editor. I went up to
Tools>Options>Mail Format and checked the "Use Microsoft
Word as email editor..." box. I clicked OK out of there
and clicked on "New" to try to create an email
message. "Starting Word as your email editor" appeared,
and then Outlook froze with the message, "This form
requires Word as your email editor but Word is either busy
or cannot be found. The form will be opened in the
Outlook email editor instead."
So far, I have tried to find/solve the problem by running
Scandisk, sfc, Adaware, Spybot, Outlook Detect and Repair -
- I even replaced email.dot -- all to no avail. When I
looked in the MS Knowledge Base, I found fixes that do not
apply to Office 2000, Outlook 2000, Word 2000 or to my
Windows 98SE. There's a fix there too that concerns
Windows Viewer which I do not have.
Please help. Thank you.
