Word as email editor and HTML

Im using Word as my email editor, and Script Editor as my
HTML editor from within word.

In Script Editor, I paste in some nice clean HTML, save
it, and return to Word. Send as an email merge. When I
look at the resulting email in hotmail (Im testing it
before it goes final), the formatting tends to be screwed
up. ie. text changing size (especially when word notices
some text is a date, for example). Is there anyway to
strip all the useless junk that Word throws in there? Why
can't word just use a simple FONT tag instead of SPAN
crap like style='color:red;mso-ansi-language:EN-US'. And
why does it like to change my BR's to DIVs?

Is there anyway I can get around this? Can I use notepad
to edit HTML straight from Outlook 2002?

Thanks for your time,
Alex

Create your HTML formatted message in your favorite editor and save it as an
htm-file. Set Outlook as your e-mail editor and create a new HTML formatted
message. Choose Insert-> File...-> browse to htm-file-> press the little
down arrow on the Insert button and choose Insert as Text.
