Word alignment

Hi!
Using Word 2003. I have a Title and body of text (example below):
Title
body body body
body body body

When I attempt to Center the Title, the ENTIRE body(s) and title are
aligned. If I select UNDO, the body get left aligned and the title stays
corectly aligned.......

My question: when I select the Title, why does all the body align center also?
I have already reinstalled Word 2003.
