Word 99

I recently reformatted, installing XP home, and reloaded all my old word
files. Everything was fine until today when all my Word documents now appear
as notepad docs with the notepad icon. Is this going to mess me up, and can
I change them back to Word documents? Every new document I create also now
has the wordpad icon. Any thoughts?
