How do I permanentlly remove the wavy underlines from my document?
Every time I save the document without the wavy lines, it comes right back.

We can't tell without knowing what color the wavy lines are.

Go to http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word/HP051896721033.aspx and expand the
topic "I see underlines in my document". That will tell you how the lines got
there, which should tell you what you need to do to remove them.

Turn off spell check and grammar check in the normal.dotx (or
normal.dotm) template.

You'll find four boxes for doing that in Word Options > Proofing, and
on the Ribbon under Review > Proofing > Set Language, check "Do Not
Check ..." and uncheck "Detect Languages Automatically."

It depends on how permanently you want to remove them, and whether you want
to remove them only for yourself or for anyone who views the document. See

Note that, while these options are specifically for spelling, there are
parallel settings for grammar.
