There are several possible causes, and you're going to have to eliminate them
one by one.

- You may have an incompatible or corrupted add-in, particularly if you
installed Office 2007 as an upgrade from a previous version. See
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/ProbsOpeningWord.htm,
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/CheckIfAddinsInstalled.htm, and
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA011514521033.aspx.

- The Data key in the registry may be corrupted. See
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/302629 (which also discusses several other
possible causes), http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/MissingMenusEtc.htm,
and http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/DataKeySettings.htm. The version
number to use in the Data key name for Word 2007 is "12.0".
