Define a different color for the Hyperlink character style.

Highlight the hyperlink and go to "Format", then "Font" then "Font colour"
and just choose black.

A nicer reply, e.g. "how do I do that?", would have gotten you a helpful
answer.

be prepared to do a bit of investigation.

To be fair, I missed the reference to Word 2007 in the subject line, and it
is difficult enough to figure out how to modify styles in Word 2002/2003.

You're right. The assumption is that everyone is a Word expert, when all we
want to do is just be able to use it.

Like Penny said, highlight the ENTIRE hyperlink. You can then right click on
the highlight and select all the available object properties. This should
work, although I've found that it doesn't always. Word thinks it's smarter
than the user sometimes and defaults to default formatting at times. Makes
sure you speciify a specific color and don't use "Automatic" if so you'll get
random results.
