Good morning, dear all,

I began evaluating Word 2007 this morning. I am frustrated at teh
limitations imposed on teh evaluation trial copy, e.g., no allowance for
inserting Symbols...

But my primary interest at this time is to find the path for allowing Speech
recognition...that is, if it is actually offered in this new version of
Office. I understand this feature was offered in Office 2003.

Would someone please help?

Speech Recognition has been moved to the OS (Vista and, I believe, XP to
some limited extent), which is why it is no longer available in Word. But
the Insert | Symbol command is certainly still available. Since I don't have
Word 2007 installed, I can't tell you exactly where to find it, but I assure
you it still exists. You might try looking at
http://office.microsoft.com/assista...t=788&type=flash&CTT=11&Origin=HA100744321033,
which tells where commands are in Word 2007. Ah, just checked it myself, and
it's at the far right of the Insert tab.
