Word 2007 generates bad Table of Figures

Using Reference: Insert Table of Figures.

Generates an incomplete list of figures. Tried both 2007 format (.docx) and
compatibility format (.doc).

Moved my .doc to another computer and used Word 2003 to generate a correct
table of figures.

I can update the page numbers in the table of figures using Word 2007, but
if I insert or delete a figure, I have to go back to Word 2003 to create a
good table of figures.

Is there a solution to this problem? I'm having a similar problem
on my Word 2007 installation. I can move to another computer running
Word 2003 and correct the TOF, but I don't know how much longer I will
have access to that computer.
