Word 2007 Delete/Backspace keys don't work

I have a user that the delete and backspace keys don't work in Word 2007. I
did read in the previous posts for the resolution in 2003, but I could not
find the similiar in 2007. Can someone please tell me how to resolve this?

The solution for Delete is no longer applicable in Word 2007 because the
WordPerfect options are no longer available. But the solution for Backspace
("Typing replaces selected text") is still valid. Find this option at Office
Button | Word Options | Advanced: Editing options.

I tried that and that box is selected. It has always been but it still doesnt
fix my problem

I cant backspace to delete a bullet
