Word 2007 bullet text size wrong

E

Elizabeth Swoope

Word 2007

I'm starting with a plain document in which the Normal text is 12 pt.
Cambria. (Definitely part of the style definition, not applied with
direct-formatting.)

When I apply bullets to several paragraphs using the Bullets button, the
text changes to 11 pt. I would have thought that the internal List Paragraph
format would take the text size from the Normal style.

What am I missing?

(BTW, this is just a preliminary step to defining a bullet style. I know
that it's better to use bullet and number styles than rely on the
bullets/numbers applied with the buttons. And I can change the text size when
I create the styles, but I am curious why I have to. Maybe I'm doing
something wrong.)

Thanks,

liz

Do this to change the default font (as well as other character and paragraph
settings) in Word 2007: Press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S. In the Styles pane, click
the Manage Styles button. Click the Set Defaults tab. Make the desired
changes. If you want to transfer the settings to the attached template
(normal.dotm if you are editing a blank document), click "New documents
based on this template" before clicking OK.

Stefan,

Thank you for that little tidbit! That was exactly what I needed.

Hi Stefan
I am trying to update my bullets so that they are not the round ones but
square coloured ones. For the life of me, I cannot get this to work. I
create the bullet as required and then go into the styles manager and click
I'm glad I could help!
