Sorry, I have no solution, but a similar problem - the same thing happens,
but only (so far) with Word attachments to e-mails. I posted a query about
this (title: doc attachments), but so far none of the remedies proposed has
been useful. Loads of people seem to have the same problem. I suspect an MS
plot to make us buy new software - but I know f*** all about computers.
Anyway I'll keep an eye on this thread to see if some wizard gives you the
answer we're all waiting for! - Auguri!

You might try OpenOffice.org. It won't cost you a dime and may very well
solve the problem.

Have you asked about this in an Office group? Or a Word group?
microsoft.public.it.office.word
microsoft.public.office.setup
microsoft.public.office.misc

ma 'sti 'mericanacci en capiscion un cass ! Grazie 'Mago' Lodovico per il
collegamento: ho seguito le indicazioni di Patrik e sembra che siano giuste.
Perhaps our Microsoft 'wizards' should take note of the link you supplied,
at least for the folk running the Italian version of Word.
