Word 2003 Upload

Word 2007 is unable to covert files to Word 2003 as some of its features are
not recognised by Word 2003. However, I was unable to download Word 2003 to
the PC so that I could use both. I got the intrsuction that the ‘requested
operation requires elevation’. It would seem that Vista places a block on
certain programmes and the only way to get round it is do be an
‘adminstrator’. Is anyone aware of how I can download Word 2003 on to a Vista
operating system.

Word 2007 can *indeed* save to the previous Word 2003 (or earlier) document
formats very easily.
Just click the Orb, then 'Save As'....

I think you have the words 'download' and 'install' confused.

Download the Word Viewer for Office Word. That will read all word documents created in Word 2007 and be able to read it on Word 2003.

Sounds like a ruse to make sure everyone buys 2007. So, businesses that
send out Word 2007 to clients also have to send a link to download
something to be able to read it!!!???

I believe if you install OpenOffice.org you'll find that it is able to
save in both formats.

No you Ubuntu slave.... In Word 2007 you can save as Word 2003 so they
don't have to purchase an upgrade.

I'll bet in the OpenSores environment, they sometimes have updates and if
they need to be compatable with a lower version, they need to specifically
save in that version.

Happens all the time.

No need for insults unless, of course, you don't have a high esteem like
Frank and just can't help yourself.

What about someone receiving in Word 97, 2000 or XP? Would you have to
know what they use or does saving as 2003 do the trick?

Not that I can see. If I save ABIWord in a .doc format, I can read it
with Word 2000 no problem. I don't know anyone that has spent 1300
dollars for Office 2007 to send and test with.
Happens all the time.

If you say so.

Word 2007 saves as '97-2003' format for the benefit of earlier versions..

You sure are out to confuse and mislead for you own agenda all the time here.

It is quite normal even on your precious Linux the offer viewers for older version of even for those who do not posess the full program.

Yes, I'm aware of that but the OP was specifically talking about 2003.

Thanks for letting others know.

MS has a Word compatibility pack free for dl that will allow users of
previous Word to read all Word 2007 docs.

Considering I wrote OFFICE 2007 and not WORD 2007, you can apologize for

You lie all the time. Why would anyone want to apologize to the Ubuntu

Oh, so, to you, someone that uses Ubuntu is a second class citizen that
should have their own drinking fountains, rest rooms and should sit at
the back of the bus? Would you allow them to vote?
