Greetings
We occasionally get Word documents from a client that Word 2003 has problems opening. I can open it in Word 2000 (which is supposedly what it was created with) although it takes Word 2000 almost a minute to open the document. I then do a select all/copy/new/paste into a new Word document and forward that back to the user using Word 2003. I can duplicate the symptom on my machine also running Word 2003. In fact I just tried it and it took about 15 minutes for the Word 2000 file to open. CPU usage wasn't abnormal during the process, Word was just stuck with a perpetual hourglass. If I do a save as from 2003 then attempt to open the new document, same thing happens. Has anybody else seen similar behavior? Any ideas what to do to resolve this?
