I am running Vista Home Premium on a new Dell laptop, 2.4ghz dual core, etc. I have two problems with Word 2003. If I double click a .doc file I get a warning that windows cannot find the file. If I try to open word directly it takes about 2mins to open.
If I run winword.exe word opens fine. I tried disabling all addins, no change. I tried renaming the normal.dot, no change.
If I boot in safe mode the problems are gone. What do I need to disable to find the problem?
I am running Trend Micro Virus, if I disable that it makes no difference.
