Word 2003 Numbering Not Working Correctly w/Special Headings

Hi. I'm a more advanced user of Styles, but for the life of me cannot figure
this one out. Trying to create headings as follows:

Heading 1 = SECTION 1
Heading 2 = Chapter 1
Heading 3 = 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, etc.
Heading 4 = 1.5.1, 1.5.2, 1.5.3, 1.5.4, etc.

Problem is, H3s are numbering, 1.1, 2.1, 3.1, etc.; and
H4s are numbering 1.1.5, 2.1.5, 3.1.5

Really stuck on this one. I've already tried the Shauna Kelly website, to
no avail. Thank you.

This happens when the number fields somehow get out of order. Since they all
appear as 1s when you're setting up the numbering, this is difficult to
troubleshoot or correct, and it usually works out to be easier to recreate
that level from scratch:

1. In Level 4, clear the "Number format" box entirely.

2. Click the arrow beside "Previous level number" and select Level 2 (since
that's where you seem to be starting). That will insert a 1. Type a period
after it.

3. Repeat for Level 3.

4. Then choose 1, 2, 3 for the "Number style" to insert a 1 representing
Level 4. Follow it with a period if desired.

You're done!
