Word 2003 lost in 2007

I have urgent deadlines and have had to suddenly begin working in word 2007 -
I absolutely hate the darned thing.

I am used to having word 2003 - set up for my poor eye sight and without all
those naggy underlines for grammer and spelling.

I had the old word 2003 set up for toolbars with both rows showing, default
text at 16 point Times New Roman, word count visible, paragraph alignment
visible, spell check visible - but please god! Turned off until I want it!
And a few other things.

Please, please, please - say it's possible to turn these godforsaken tabs
off and revert to my usual view?

I have no objection to using tabs as such - but as it is I can't find
anything, and I think I'm going mad! Please someone help me, I only have a
few days left for this deadline.

I feel ur pain!!!
At this moment I am also searching for info on how to remove the tabs or at
least
get it to operate like my 2003. I can't locate anything! Where is the file
menu? I need simplicity.. Now I have to finish my work on my 10yr son PC. I
wouldnt remotely know how to restore back to 2003, but I need it back!

To help you find the 2003 commands/options you need in 2007, there is a free
interactive guide which will help you locate them.

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word/HA100744321033.aspx

If you are in a corporate environment, you really have no choice but to
learn how any new applications/updates work; tedious though it may be.

I think that once you get passed the initial hurdles, you will find it as
intuiative as previous versions.

Hope the link helps,

I am not in a coprporate environment - I'm an animation student trying to
meet a dealine for a presentation on Monday.

I just got this stuff - new PC too, so I'm having to install stuff all the
time - last Thursday.

I've tried looking at that guide but all that does is tell you where to
individually find things you click on - I just don't have time for that!

I need the 2003 layout back NOW!

It's only at completely desperate times like this that you realise just how
much you used to reply on having things set up to suit just YOU.

I'm in hell...

Font is in the Font section of your Home Tab
word count visible,

At the bottom of the page
paragraph alignment visible,

Presumably you mean the Ruler? Click the little Icon at the top of the R/H
scroll bar
spell check visible - but please god! Turned off until I want it!

Go to the Review Tab, right-click Spelling and Grammar and add it to the
QAT.
