Word 2003 is slooooow.

Whenever I try to browse in Word 2003 in a function such as 'save as' or
any function that uses the 'Look In' box it takes over a minute before the
drop down menu pops up. I've tried disconnecting Mapped Network Drives,
there were two but I use them both everyday so I can't delete. I've also
tried deleting all the Temp and *chk files. I've defragged. I've cursed at
the monitor. Nothing so far has worked. Any suggestions please???

Is the problem only with Word 2003, or does it occur in other applications or
Windows Explorer? I know things are slow if I try to "look" at another machine
on my network that has Windows XP SP2 installed (the security stuff)...

Hi Cindy,

it seems to happen in other MS apps eg Excel. I haven't noticed any problem
with Explorer but the cmain computer hosting the network is running XP Pro
2002, and has Service Pack 2... sounds like you might have something there.
