Word 2003 Inserting Comments

When inserting a comment the comment is not posting in the correct area. It
is posting it to the top of the page. In the track changes menu i have
checked to ensure that the box is checked to insert comment next to text.
Can any one help. Thanks

Hi Paul -

I've not seen this nor can I duplicate it here, but I did want to clarify
one thing... That checkbox has nothing to do with positioning of the
Comments. It just determines whether there is a connecting line from the
comment balloon to the point where the Comment was inserted. The Comments
themselves are always - in my experience - in the margin adjacent to the
referenced content if balloons are being displayed.

What more can you offer describing the nature of the Comments
(Insertion/Deletion, Formatting, doesn't matter?) as well as the structure &
composition of the doc. Is it just the one doc or all docs affected by the
problem?

You are correct about the checkbox. The inserted comment is in the margin.
What is not happening, the line is not going to where i am inserting the
comment. The connecting line is going to the top of the page.
