Word 2003 Favorites

I have 2 questions:
1. Is there a way to get your favorites back into the open dialog box in
Word 2003?
2. Is there a substitue for the office shortcut bar?

Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

See http://www.gmayor.com/customize_the_word_places_bar.htm

If you have the earlier version of Word, the Office shortcut bar will still
work, though frankly the Windows quick launch toolbar has rather made it
redundant.

How do you get the quick launch toolbar? I appologize, but this is the 1st

The Quick launch toolbar is nothing to do with Office 2003. It is a Windows
function, by default at the bottom of your Windows display area. Right click
the Windows taskbar then Toolbars > check quick launch toolbar. You can add
shoirtcuts there as required.
