Word 2002 unable to read OE6 Word attachments

Word 2002 upgrade from Works 2002 program and then Word
2002 SP1 and SP2 + security patches from MS download site.
Thus Word 2002 with everything I could find for Word 2002
update on MSFT. This was used to upgrade Word 97 from an
Office 97 Pro with all updates. Before the Word 2002 was
used to Upgrade the Word 97, I could read Word attachments
to IE5 and IE6 messages. Now I cannot. The messages are
clearly Word attachments which are greyed out.

NOTE:: I found a work around: Click the Forward mail
button in OE6, then the Word attachment IS READABLE in
Word 2002 just fine. So it seems clear that I should be
able to read the original message attachment with Word
2002, but some glitch/setting is preventing it.
