Word 2002 Settings for margin, column etc too large for page width

I'm quite an experieced Word 2002/Windows XP user but
with no tech training. In a long multi-section two-column
Word 2002 doc the page margins, column widths and
spacing, and para indents are set to match A4 page width
21.0 cm exactly. But when I click OK to close Page Setup
box an error message comes up saying settings in some
sections are too large for page width. Error box offers
no Fix button. If I re-set margins or column spacing
arbitrarily low the message still comes up. I'd be
grateful if anyone can suggest how can I find the
measurement that's causing the problem, how can I fix it?

Hi.

The best thing I can think of is to go into the paper tab
of the page setup dialog box, and make certain A4 is the
selected paper size. If you've already done that...sorry.

Thanks.

There is a similar problem that can be fixed by going to Format |
Columns (not the toolbar columns button) and click the appropriate
preset for the number of columns desired. Even if it already shows the
correct number of columns, click it and verify that "Equal column
width" becomes checked.

May help, may not...
