Word 2000 Form Field

I have a Word document with many form fields inserted. When I F11 to the
next form field sometimes my cursor goes to a place where there is no form
field (eg: perhaps the next space or to the beginning of the next line) and
therefore I'm pressing the F11 key twice to get to the next field.

Has anyone ever come across this before and is there a way round it?

F11 will jump to the next FIELD, not necessarily a form field. Press Alt+F9
and see if there aren't other fields in these positions...

Form fields were not really designed to work in this manner. Usually, one
would protect the document as a form (Tools/Protect document) then use TAB to
jump to the form fields. (I can understand why you might not do this, it's
just an observation.)

Thank you for your response. There is something really weired with this
document!

I've tried pressing Alt+F9 but there doesn't appear to be anything untoward.
However, when F11 takes me to a point where there should be no form field I
have tried to delete the word / space but am unable to do so. When I
highlight the word or space the Form Field option on the form toolbar becomes
highlighted. When I click this icon, there is default text in the Text form
field option box. This obviously text from a previous version but I can't
delete it.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Yes, it does sound odd, indeed. Are you certain all hidden text is being
displayed?

What about saving as HTML (a web page), closing, then opening the HTML. Can you
see these "undercover" form fields now?

If not, turn on "Confirm conversions on open" in Tools/Options/General, then
open the HTML file as "plain text". Now you can see the HTML codes. Try to find
a form field, then you can use Edit/Find to jump to all the form fields. Can
you pick up the stray ones this way? And delete them?
