Word 2000 document opens slowly

When I open a document by File,Open, select the document it opens instantly.
When I browse to it and open it the Window Explorer or Outlook attachment it
take approx. 15-30 secons or longer. Then system is running Windows XP sp2
and Office 2k Prem. I have re-installed Office and re-installed Office SP3
and still have the same problem. I have disable all background apps and
services that I could and still the same problem. I also created a new local
profile and still it still happens. Does anyone have any ideas I am running
out of things to try. Thanks Chuck
