Word 2000 as Email Editor for Outlook 2002

I have just upgraded to Outlook 2002 software and I am
trying to use Word 2000 as my email editor but under
options it does not allow me to select Word as the email
editor. Is there a patch to make this work?

Check "Use Microsoft Word to edit email messages"

Sorry if I misunderstood - if it is greyed out I suspect Outlook XP expects
Word XP to be present rather than Word 2000. Sorry don't know how to fix
that if it is the case.

Yes - you can't use Word as e-mail editor if the versions don't match, as
the OP has said is the case.

The version of Word and Outlook must match if you want to use Word as
your email editor. There is no patch or hack to use Word 2000 with
Outlook 2002.
