Wont search entire database

Hi i am working with access 2003 and when i try to find existing records i
have discovered that the sarch does not search through the entire database.
It only searches from whe point that i am sitting ie if i am looking at
record 407 it will only search to last record it will not go back and search
from 1 - 407. How can i fix this so that it searches the entire database

You didn't tell us how you are searching. If you are using Ctrl+F or
equivalent menu option, you can specify the Search Direction.
