WMV setting stopped working!

My WMV video setting, ex. brightness, color etc. do not work.
The slide bars are there to change them but they do nothing when you move
them.

What would caues this and how can I get them working again.

Did you install a third party codec that might be overriding the built-in
WMV decoder?

Nothing offhand. But there's a lot of random and bad software out there, so
I wouldn't know where to start. =\

What are the results of WMP's Help:About:Technical Support Information menu
tool?
