WMP11 DRM Upgrade Problems

I am running XP SP3 RC1 and recently, I have been having problems with WMP11.

I can no longer play DRM files with it. I open the file and WMP opens and
shuts down with no error codes or warnings.

There is also nothing in my DRM folder.

When I try to upgrade the DRM at Microsoft, in either IE7 or FF3, the
browsers crash when I click on update.

I cannot rollback WMP11 to 10 --I've tried it. I've also reinstalled 11.

I've deleted the DRM folder and tried to update but my browsers still crash.

Hi losfernandos,
I have no answers for you, I'm afraid. In fact, my
WMP11 does something similar after being interrupted in opening a DRM
protected .WMV file, Media Player always shuts down after about 60 seconds
with an "I need to close" message, every time. I tried to
uninstall/reinstall WMP11 - same thing happens. Uninstalling WMP11 and
installing WMP10 was okay, but I really do like 11 and keep it open anyway -
ignoring the error message while sliding it over to the extreme left of the
screen. If I have Error Reporting turned off I can't do this, it just
exits. It's really annoying, and I don't know what causing it. There was
only ever one file with DRM on my system and now there are none.

That's good, because you should have been replying to the person
"losfernandos" replied to: "pearlheartgtr".

Keep trying... you'll learn how to reply to the correct person
someday.

Missing the point, again - I still have the problem with WMP11 and so has
"pearlheartgtr", as far as I know. Please read previous posts - thanks for
any advice.
