WMP11 bug

I have WMP11 and DivX installed. I'm attempting to play and AVI file which
uses the XViD codec. the file plays normally in the DivX player but WMP11
only plays the sound - no video. It says: "aquiring codec"..."codec aquired"
and promtly starts playing only the sound.

Previous to WMP11 (i.e. v10), WMP could play the files normally with the
only notification of a DivX icon showing up in the notifaction area. Most
likely due to the fact that WMP10 was utilising a DivX codec. But now WMP11
doesn't even do that.

Any thoughts? (other than installing a 3rd party codec pack >.<)
