WMP Playlists

Hi,

Where are the WMP Playlists stored? I have some of my own at ...\My
Documents\My Music\My Playlists, but there are dozens in there that aren't
really connected with reality, and I'd like to delete them so that the only
ones available are my own ones.

How can I delete these spurious ones?

Thanks,
Alain

Hi, If they are not there you can search your PC for them. Goto
Start>>Search. Search for *.wpl.

Thanks. There were a whole bunch under the "All Users" part of the My
Documents folder. However, after I've deleted the spurious .WPL files, the
old names still appear in the Media Player "Playlist" drop-down. Do I need
to reboot the computer to refresh the list?

Thanks,
Alain

Hi Chris,

Just to confirm, I deleted all the spurious .WPL files (such as Playlist1
and Playlist42, etc), then rebooted the machine, but the entries still
appear in the Windows Media Player (version 9.0, top right).

Hoe do I get rid of them so that only the ones left in My Playlists appear?

Thanks again,
Alain

Thanks, but a pretty thorough going through that list did not identify
anything like what I asked.

Any more suggestions,

Thanks again,
Alain
