WMP, MPEG, and WMV problem in IE6

Mike

For some reason IE will not download and run a wmp, mpeg or wmv file. I have
to manually download the file to the hard drive then open with WMP. How can
I get one of these video file types to open and play in Windows Media
Player 10 without first saving to the hard drive first.
In IE, on the Adavnced tab, "play video in web pages" is checked!

I don't have a problem with Firefox playin the above file types, though.

Do you also have RealPlayer installed. If you do, you may need unselect RealPlayer for the MPEG file types/

Open RealPlayer> TOOL> Preferences> Media Types> Advance button> Uncheck the box for the media files that you want WMP to play, currently assigned to RealPlayer.
