wmp.dll self-registration failed

Developers,

I am unable to import the WMP control into a vs.net c# app. First,
the WMP library does not appear in the COM objects list
automatically. When I try to import wmp.dll from the system32 folder,
a "self-registration failed" message appears. Has anyone seen this
problem before? I am running VS.NET 2005 Pro (Service Pack 1) on
Vista Home Premium. Thanks.

"Windows Media Player" should be in the list of COM objects. Are you sure WMP is installed
and running correctly?

Willy.

Did you solve this? I am having the same problem. I have done
everything short of re-installing Vista. WMP 11 is installed and
running properly. The problem is, you can't repair or uninstall it.
Thanks.
