Hi All I have resolved the issue with XFi I downloaded Vista drivers from
creative.
My wireless usb adapter is BT Voyager 1055. There are no new drivers from
the BT web site but my question is why does XP do it all ok?
Whea I try to use the CD install of Voyager it puts up error message install
VID.PID
does anybody know what that is?

Due to the addition of security protection code at the lower levels of the
Vista hardare interface routines as compared to XP many drivers that worked
in XP have to be modified to work in Vista. Some XP drivers have been able
to work if the driver is installed and run in XP compatibility mode and RC2
appears to do a better job of providing the XP compatibility mode then RC1
and earlier did.

From:

Software & Driver Downloads - Voyager 1055 drivers are
available to download for Windows 2000 and Windows XP users
only.

The reason is a different package is needed for Vista. And
BT is the only one that can affect relief. If they don't
provide drivers for the Vista OS then you USB adapter will
never work in Vista. Microsoft is not responsible for
hardware drivers.

i had the same problem with my bt homehub and bt voyager laptop adapter,
after speaking to BT (which were most helpful NOT) they have declared that
they will not be producing any drivers or fixes for vista until the product
has been RTM, so after a long weekend and lots of reconfiguring i found that
the best way to install is to first connect the wireless adapter and let
windows install it (with the cd in the drive for the drivers) then let
windows manage the wireless network, works fine and have actually managed to
get up 5Mb/s d/l speed. If you still have no joy let me know and we'll see
if we can't figure something out

hope this was at least a bit helpful.
