I have recently install wireless on a friends computer. Everything is fine
until the computer is put on standby, when the computer comes out of standby,
he can not connect to the internet. This has happened several times. I then
must reinstall everything and reset the router. The wireless is a wireless
card, router set. The signal is good and everything is fine, but can not
connect to the net. Is the problem with router or computer?

Probably neither - it's probably a problem with the wireless network adapter
losing its connection while in standby. This is not an uncommon problem.

So, what can I do? Reinstalling everything and starting from scratch is a
pain! A different wireless was used before. Can I remove pervious used
wireless data? Can not use as is, spend more time fixing the problem than
it is worth. Can changing the wireless router make a difference?

Probably neither - it's probably a problem with the wireless network adapter
losing its connection while in standby. This is not an uncommon problem.

There's probably nothing you can do. Some wireless network adapters handle
standby well, some handle it poorly. Sounds as if you found one that
handles it poorly. Reinstalling will not help the problem.

Thank you Richard and I think you are right, I returned the router and
exchanged it for another one. Set it up and everything is working fine, at
