I have 3 computers - wireless laptop running Windows XP,
wired desktop running Windows XP and, thank goodness, a
Mac running OS X 10.2.8. I've managed to get the XP
machines to "Map a network drive" to the Mac but I can't
get them to connect to each other! I've followed all of
the instructions, set static IP addresses on Mac and
Desktop and using DCHP for the IP on the wireless; set
file sharing, set printer sharing, enabled Netbios over
TCP/IP, created "Guest" users and enabled them on the XP
computers, set both XP computers to "Home" workgroup, have
all computers on same subnet, etc., etc.
So, what is wrong with the XP machines! I've tried all of
the solutions I can find and I'm now so frustrated that I
could just spit nails!
Is there anyone out there (maybe at Microsoft) that can
explain how to connect these machines and get print
sharing and file sharing to work on XP Home! If this is
simple, then I'd hate to see complicated!
