how do I setup a Wireless Hub (via Ethernet) to push my internet connection
out over a wireless network, and also, access my files on my other PC (was
told that I could use my WINXP pro PC as a router, to push out the data &
internet access- same as a server can do)

Please reply to this message in the news group (not by E-mail) with
more information to help other people understand the problem.

What do you mean by "Wireless Hub"? That term could apply to a
wireless access point or to a wireless router, which are different
types of devices. Please give full details of your network hardware
setup.

If you already have a device, what is its manufacturer and model
number?

If it's a wireless router, you don't need to set up a PC as a router.

Hi
Assuming that you have DSL, or Cable Internet connection, in most cases, the
standard setting is the following.

Get a Wireless Cable/DSL Router and it plug into the Broadband Modem.

Plug your Wired computers to the Router's Switch ports. The Wireless capable
computers should be configured to work through the Wireless part of the
Router.

Once every thing is connected and the Network is configured you can
configure the Sharing settings of each computer to be able to share
resources over the LAN.

The whole thing should look like this:

You can log to this site ( http://www.ezlan.net ) and find a lot of
information concerning hardware and Network configuration, together with
reading the Hardware manuals you might it would help you in your new
Networking Endeavour.

Jack (MVP-Networking).

P.S. If your Internet source is Dialup, these are the alternative options.

Aren't you the guy with the D-Link ADSL Modem/Router combo unit? If you
have the DSL-G604T, it is a wireless router.
