Everytime I restart my computer, vertical scrolling is disabled. I have to go to the mouse properties window and select "enable vertical scrolling" under the scrolling tab. What should I do to fix this?
Yes. As a matter of fact, I've had this mouse for quite a while and have never had a problem. All of a sudden, I did, so I decided to check for new drivers. As is to be expected, there was plenty available, so I downloaded and installed them. This didn't fix the problem. I can't understand how this problem started all of a sudden, because I haven't installed any new software or hardware recently, or changed any XP settings. I've also checked for viruses and spyware, but I'm clean.
