Wireless for power users?

Q

q777

I've searched the newsgroups and microsoft KB and only found 2 posts
abouting being able to use the wireless network as a "Power User". I
have 2 Win2k machines with wireless cards. I can connect to the
wireless as administrator, but not as a "Power User". Does anyone know
how to enable this? Power users CAN access the wireless network but
only after administrator has already logged in at least once. Thx in
advance for any advice on this matter.

One of two. A bad, not properly tested driver/utility, or you haven't
installed it as required.
Check event log. Are there messages like can not open some registry key, or
start some service?
Tech. support of the wlan card manufacturer should help.

The manufacturer had nothing. I did find a work around however. I used
firedaemon to install the wlan config utility as a service so that the
utility is run with administrative priviledges without having to give
admin rights to the power users. Thanks.
