Wireless connection failure

I just upgraded to Win XP Pro and lost my wireless home
network. My laptop sees the Linksys connection but can't
find the web or my desktop. My desktop connects to the
web but if I try to set up a home network I am told that
I can't set the desktop as the direct connection to the
internet and have the other units on the network connect
through the desktop. The wizard says that my desktop is
set up to connect through another computer or a
residential gateway, which was never the case, and it
won't let me change it. You people must help me before my
student wife runs out of patience and drastically changes
life as I know it.
Thanks,
IR

Using XP Pro and looking for help with netwrking but may
have an answer for u...
Go into device manager and look for your wireless card.
Delete the device
Let XP reinstall the drivers again and I think this may
resolve your problem. I did end up deleting the bridge as
well in Network connections, but I don't think that made a
diff. The driver for my wireless card seemed to have been
corrupted when I installed XP Pro over XP home.
Hope this helps,
Sam
