have unfortunately screweded around with it, intalling and deleting crap that
my computer keeps stuffing up.

How do I wipe my Local Dick (C Drive) and re install Windows XP?
wihtout loosing my data on my second hard drive? (my J drive)

System restore didnt work.

PLEASE HELP

Hi ... First thing you need to do is get into your bios screen , Look at
your boot order , Make sure that the first boot list is set to boot from cd
rom , Then save and exit from the bios set up , Then you need your windows
xp disk inserted in your cd rom drive , I will provide a website as to what
you need to do afterward , Just make sure when you format the drive where
windows is install that you don't touch the drive with your data is store

and there is this one to look at as well

Hi, thanks for the help

it worked a treat, computer runs so much better now

i got told by a freind to disconnect my other drive just in case,
so i did and i had no problems using it after windows was installed.

but,

is diconnecting a drive risky in that situation?
could i potenutally losa the data on my second hard rive?

anyways, thanx

the site below i found better, just in easier language

No not really , Its a good way of doing it because this way when installing
windows it will automatically get install on the c drive , Sometimes when
you have your other drives install/ intact Windows will not get install on
the c drive automatically , It will choose a different drive letter ,
Though if you are aware of this ? You can always make sure that it does get
install on the c drive by selecting that it does ...

Anyways its good to hear your up and running with a clean install now ....
